Masterclass Omar Ortiz: hyperrealism / oilpaint
Thursday October 3rd - Saturday October 5th (2019) Mexican hyperrealistic painter Omar Ortiz will give a 3-day Masterclass in our gallery (The Netherlands). In a creative but utmost relaxed atmosphere Omar will share a lot of his mastersecrets to a limited amount of students.
How do these 3 days look like?
Day 1: Introduction (10.00 - 16.00 hrs)
Discussing all the materials you'll be working with and reviewing your drawings. Tinting and priming your canvas with acrylic paint and going into detail about colormixing and preparation for ideal skin tones. You'll have the opportunity to see how Omar selects his skin tone set for his pieces as he will be doing exclusive demo's throughout the day for you.
Day 2: Beauty in the details (10.00 - 16.00 hrs)
You will continue your painting from day 1, and along the way see the process of how Omar's work develops in different areas as he'll do very detailed demonstrations. The goal for you is to really focus on the step-by-step process of your work as you'll have one-on-one time with Omar for personal advice and guidance.
Day 3: Solving your doubts (10.00 - 16.00 hrs)
Omar will continue with other highly important aspects of setting examples for you to develop your process, troubleshoot any potential problems you may face which help you complete your piece outside the masterclass. There again will be several one-on-one opportunities to help guide your painting, but throughout the days there will also be many group discussions, general talks to solve any doubts and of course providing numerous tips and tricks!
All supplies are covered (canvas/board, paiting medium, cbrushes in all sizes, varnish, cleaning equipment, etc), except for your paints. Click here to see Omar's personal list of art supplies. You will only need to have 1 standard oil color set and 1 skin tone set. Each day there is a great lunch provided at our gallery.
